Type the party details right onto a 5 x 7 inch invitation, pick a fun design, and print as many as you need for the class or the family.

What should a birthday invitation say?

Whose birthday it is and which one, the date and start time (and end time for children's parties), the address, what to bring or wear if anything, and how and by when to reply. A short fun line sets the mood. Keep it on one card so parents can stick it on the fridge and find the details later.

  1. Pick a design and color.
  2. Type the name, age and party, such as Mia, 7 and Birthday Party.
  3. Set the date and time, and add the place.
  4. Add the RSVP name, phone and date.
  5. Download the PDF and print.

Wording examples

Samples for a child, a first birthday, a 30th or 50th, a surprise party, a drop-off party and a no-gifts party. Each one fills the text on the card; the date, place and design stay as you set them.

What does RSVP mean on an invitation?

RSVP comes from the French répondez s'il vous plaît, meaning please reply, as Wikipedia's entry explains. On an invitation it asks guests to tell you whether they are coming, so put a name, a phone number or email, and a reply-by date next to it. A head count helps you plan food, seats and party bags.

How do I keep track of who is coming?

Print one name, a phone number or email, and a reply-by date on the card, so every reply comes to one place. Keep a simple list as answers arrive, with how many children and adults are coming. When the list is final, print name tags or place cards from it with our other free makers.

Try the name tag template for party guests.

Limits

  • One card size, 5 x 7 inches.
  • No photos on the card yet.
  • No online RSVP tracking. Guests reply to the contact you print.
