What goes on a letterhead?

The company name and logo, then the details someone needs to reply: the address, phone number, email and website. Wikipedia describes a letterhead as the heading at the top of letter paper, with a name, address and logo or trademark. Many companies add a footer with a registration number, a second office or a slogan.

  1. Pick a design and color.
  2. Add your logo and type the company name.
  3. Type the address, phone, email and website.
  4. Write the letter, or leave it blank.
  5. Download the PDF or Word file.

How do I use a letterhead in Word?

Download the Word file, open it, and type your letter in the space below the header. Save a copy as a template so every new letter starts with your letterhead. In Google Docs, upload the Word file and open it the same way. The PDF version is best for printing a stack of blank letterhead paper.

Should a letterhead be on Letter or A4 paper?

Use the paper size your printer and your readers use. In the United States and Canada that is US Letter, 8.5 by 11 inches. Wikipedia notes that in most countries outside North America, company letterheads are printed on A4, 210 by 297 mm. Switch the paper in the settings and the layout adjusts.

Limits

  • The Word file is a close copy, not pixel for pixel; check the header after opening it.
  • One logo, no background patterns or watermarks.
