How do I delete pages from a PDF?
Choose your PDF and every page appears as a thumbnail. Click each page you want to remove; it gets a red cross. You can also type page numbers in the Remove pages box. Press Delete pages and download the new PDF, which keeps all the other pages in their original order.
- Press Choose a PDF.
- Click the pages to remove, or type them in Remove pages, for example
1, 4-6, last. - Optional: press Find blank pages to mark empty pages too.
- Press Delete pages, then Download.
Will deleting pages make my PDF smaller?
Yes, by the space those pages used. The tool builds a new PDF from only the kept pages, so nothing from removed pages stays hidden in the file. Pages with photos take most of the space: removing 4 photo pages cut our 24-page test file to 44 KB, while removing 4 text pages only took it to 1.3 MB.
| Change | Pages left | File size |
|---|---|---|
| Original | 24 | 1.3 MB |
| Removed 4 photo pages | 20 | 44 KB |
| Removed 4 text pages | 20 | 1.3 MB |
The four photo pages in the test file show the same picture, which a PDF stores once; that is why removing them saves so much.
How do I remove blank pages from a scanned PDF?
Press Find blank pages. The tool looks at each page and marks the ones with almost no marks on them, ignoring the edges where scanners leave shadows. Check the marks, unmark pages to keep, then press Delete pages. If a page with faint marks is missed, choose Loose and try again; if too many are marked, choose Strict.
How do I delete pages from a PDF without Acrobat?
You do not need Acrobat. This page does it for free in any browser on Windows, Mac, iPhone and Android. On a Mac, the built-in Preview app can also delete pages: show thumbnails, select pages and press Delete, then save. Windows has no built-in way to delete PDF pages.
Limits and fixes
- At least one page has to stay. To remove everything, simply delete the file.
- Bookmarks are not kept in the new file.
- Form fields on kept pages stay fillable; fields on removed pages go with them.
- Password-protected PDFs must be unlocked first.
Frequently asked questions
Can I undo a page I marked?
Yes. Click the page again to unmark it, or press Clear to unmark all pages before saving.
Can I type "last" instead of the last page number?
Yes. The Remove pages box understands numbers, ranges like 3-8, "last", "end", "odd" and "even".
Does it change the quality of the other pages?
No. Kept pages are copied exactly as they are.
Is there a page limit?
No fixed limit. Very long PDFs on phones can be slow to show all thumbnails, but the tool works page by page.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. The pages are removed in your browser on your device.
