Compress PDF to 100 KB

Upload forms that cap documents at 100 KB need a small file, often a one-page scan of an ID, certificate or signature. This page is set to 100 KB. Your file is compressed in your browser and never uploaded.

  4. Check the new size, then press Download.

What fits in 100 KB?

At 100 KB text-only documents fit easily. Photo scans fit too, but in our tests only at 96 to 120 dpi, which reads well on screen and looks soft in print. The table shows our test files compressed to exactly 100 KB: 4 of 4 fit.

Run on 2026-10-17 by the site build with the tool's engine (build JPEG encoder; browser sizes differ a little).

How to get a PDF under 100 KB

  • Scan one page per file at 150 dpi in black and white or gray, not color.
  • Tick Black and white images: gray images save a lot of space at this size.
  • Crop away the empty table or desk around the paper before converting.
  • If a form allows several files, split a long scan into one page each.

Why can't my PDF reach the size?

Compression shrinks images; it cannot shrink text, fonts and drawings much, and pictures can only lose so much detail before they become unreadable. A long scan in color may simply hold too much at 100 KB. Try black and white images, remove pages you do not need, or split the document into parts.

Other sizes

200 KB, 500 KB, 1 MB, 2 MB, for email, or any size with Compress PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is it free?

Yes, with no sign-up, no daily limit and no watermark.

Is my file uploaded?

No. Compression runs in your browser, so the file stays on your device.

Does it lower quality?

Only images, and only as much as needed to fit. Text stays sharp.

Can I compress several files?

Yes. Each file is fitted to 100 KB on its own and you get one ZIP.

Will links and form fields still work?

Yes. Only images are re-encoded.
