How do I convert a TIFF to PDF?
Press Choose TIFF files and pick one or more TIFFs. The tool shows how many pages each holds. Put the files in order, choose whether pages keep the scan's own size or fit on A4 or Letter, then press Convert to PDF and Download. All pages of all files go into one PDF.
- Press Choose TIFF files.
- Check the page counts and the order.
- Pick a Page size.
- Press Convert to PDF, then Download.
Does it convert every page of a multi-page TIFF?
Yes. A TIFF can hold many pages, like a stack of scans, and some converters only take the first. This tool converts every full-size page in order and skips the small preview copies some scanners add, so you do not get thumbnails as extra pages.
Why is my converted fax so small?
Fax TIFFs use CCITT Group 4 compression, which PDF supports too. When a page is stored in one block, the tool copies that compressed data straight into the PDF, without decoding it, so nothing is lost and the size barely changes. Pages stored in several blocks are decoded and saved as lossless PNG.
| Test file | TIFF size | PDF size | How |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fax page, Group 4, one strip, 200 dpi | 270 bytes | 1.1 KB | Fax data copied as it is |
| Fax page, Group 4, four strips, 200 dpi | 634 bytes | 5.5 KB | Decoded, saved as PNG (lossless) |
| Color photo, LZW, 1600 × 1200, 300 dpi | 7.2 MB | 1.2 MB | Decoded, saved as JPEG |
What page size will the PDF have?
By default each page matches the scan: the tool divides the pixel size by the resolution stored in the file, so a Letter page scanned at 300 dpi comes out as Letter. Files without a resolution are treated as 150 dpi. Choose Fit on A4 or Fit on US Letter to put every page on standard paper instead.
Limits and fixes
- BigTIFF files (over 4 GB) and some unusual compressions are not supported.
- Very large scans are decoded in memory; phones handle about 120 MB of files at once.
- Text in scans is a picture, not searchable text; run OCR PDF on the result to make it searchable.
Frequently asked questions
Is it free?
Yes, with no sign-up, no watermark and no page limit.
Are my files uploaded?
No. TIFF files are read and converted in your browser.
Can I combine several TIFF files?
Yes. Add them all; their pages go into one PDF in the order shown.
Is quality reduced?
Fax and black-and-white pages are lossless. Color photos are saved as high-quality JPEG.
Does it open .tif as well as .tiff?
Yes, both endings are the same format.
